In 2015 the Monon Railroad Historical-Technical Society, Inc. (MRHTS) is

back in the Indianapolis area.

UPDATE:

The Hilton Garden Inn Fishers will be our convention headquarters hotel. We have reserved a block of guest rooms for Friday and Saturday evenings at a special rate for convention attendees, $109.00 per night. (Be sure to make sure you get the Monon Society discount.) 2015 Schedule Of Events

Friday Sept 25th 2015
1:00-3:00 p.m. Tour INRD main offices, at 1500 S Senate Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
4:00-7:00 p.m. Registration at Hilton Garden Inn with cash bar available-Indianapolis Northeast/Fishers 9785 North by Northeast Blvd, Fishers, IN 46037
7:00 p.m Official Banquet, including dinner- Hilton Garden Inn- Guest Speaker Mont Switzer

Saturday Sept. 26th 2015
Morning – If you are registered and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn with the Monon Society, breakfast is included up to 2 people per room, with omelet chef


A COUPLE OPTIONS AVAILABLE:
9:00 a.m.-- “The Monon Belles” under the direction of George and Becky Lortz will car pool a group to Zionsville, IN. Lunch on your own but a quaint restaurant has been picked out to rest your weary bones.

OR 10:00 a.m.—TOUR—The Indiana Transportation Museum has scheduled tours for the Flagler Business Car and or NKP Business Car, and spend the rest of the day exploring the museum.


12:00—Caboose train for ride behind former Monon #50, and attached will be a Monon caboose.


4:30 p.m.—Dinner serving starts at the ‘Ville Restaurant 101 N 10th St, Noblesville, IN 46060 (included in your registration)—Meal choices listed below, please indicate number of meals on line next to item. Tea, water or soda included
Tender Pork with bbq sauce on bun served with fries
Roasted Chicken breast dressed with bbq sauce served with fries
Burger served with fries or chips
Cod Fish fried with beer batter served with fries
Soft sweet yeast dough filled with ground beef, cabbage, onion and American cheese with fries
Spinach Leaves, feta, shaved red onions, bacon, & strawberry slices served with vinaigrette dressing


6:15 p.m.—Train departs Downtown Noblesville for leisure trip towards Indianapolis and back

The Board Meeting and swap meet will be held at the Hamilton County Fairground, times as follows
8:00-10:00—Vendor Setup- Hamilton County Fairgrounds
9:00 a.m. - Annual Meeting- Hamilton County Fairgrounds
10:00 a.m. -Train Show opens – admission included
TBA - Mont Switzer - will give a Monon related modelers clinic
10:00 - Indiana Transportation Museum open to members that need more Railroading. if you missed Saturdays Caboose train, here is your opportunity to ride the caboose train at no extra charge to Conventioneers.
3:00 p.m. Train Show Closes - Have a safe journey home with many new memories

The Convention Train Show will be held at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds from 10:00 am to 3:00pm. We are working with the Central Indiana Division of the NMRA to make sure the show is a success. This year Monon Master Modeler Montford Switzer will be conducting clinics. The general public is invited to attend. Vendors seeking to participate can download the application for tables and mail to the Convention Chairman.
