In 2017 the Monon Railroad Historical-Technical Society, Inc. (MRHTS) will be gathering

in Southern Indiana in Salem, Indiana.


September 29 through October 1, 2016

Mark your calendars now. We are planning for a Salem World Headquarters weekend with emphasis on the Monon Railroad and the Limestone Industry and a visit and possible banquet at the Depot Museum at Salem, the home of the Monon Railroad Historical-Technical Society, Inc. Plans are stil in the works, so stay tuned.

Rooms can only be reserved by telephone, no online reservations.

Due to fees and contractural commitments, if you make reservations for the weekend and are unable to attend, there will be no refunds.

Friday, September 29th, 2017-Includes entrance to all events
12—2:00 Guided Tour of the INRD Maintenance Facility, Hiawatha Yard 1250 County Rd 1380 W. Jasonville, IN 47438–NO transportation provided
6 pm Social hour at the Depot
7 pm Annual Banquet--Following the Banquet, words from our President, short break, & slide presentation by Clay Stuckey
Saturday, September 30th, 2017-Includes entrance to all events
9 am- Bus loads for Limestone Country (Lunch provided)
9 am- Small bus loads for Spring Mill State Park, for those that expressed interest (NO lunch provided)
3 pm- Approximate return time
Relax, rest or take in the John Hay Center
6 pm- Dinner at the Depot--Pete Pedigo’s slide presentation “Monon & Limestone” to follow
Sunday, October 1st, 2017—Includes entrance to show 
Train Show—John Hay Center  
8:00-10:00—Vendor Setup
9:00 a.m. --Annual Board Meeting held in the Depot at the Monon World Headquarters
10:00 a.m.--Train Show opens – admission included
TBA—Mont Switzer—will give a clinic- “Monon Freight Cars”
3:00 p.m.  Train Show Closes—Have a safe journey home with many new memories
