| Sand Pit |

As of now, this is the northern end of the Hoosier Sub, just south of Yockey Road. For how long is anyone's guess. Looking north towards Chicago.

The rails were clearly removed recently, but I saw no signs of active work being done anywhere around Sand Pit. Make of that what you will. Looking south towards Louisville.

Someone forgot to pick up these two ties, and in doing so, gave away the location of the passing siding north switch. Looking south towards Louisville.

There are piles of ties and tie plates scattered up and down the ROW. This specific pile of ties is just north of the passing siding north switch.

And just south of the north switch is the accompanying pile of tie plates.

The fact that Milepost 251 is still standing provides an excellent excuse to show the general state of the ROW. Looking south towards Louisville.

Looking across Bridge 248.5. Looking north towards Chicago.

Bridge 248.5 crosses Leatherwood Creek. Looking south towards Louisville.

Bridge 250.0 crosses the East Fork of the White River. Looking north towards Chicago.

In 2010, Bridge 250.0 was damaged by an arsonist, and was never repaired. Looking south towards Louisville.

A close up of the fire damage on Bridge 250.0. While the bridge is still sturdy enough to walk up to the burn, I would not recommend walking all the way across.

Taken from the Sand Pit Road crossing. Looking north towards Chicago.

The Sand Pit Road crossing. Looking south towards Louisville.

Taken from the Yockey Road crossing. Looking north towards Chicago.
